When we first came into the UK in August of 2003 as missionaries from the Argentinean Assemblies of God we did it in obedience to a word the Lord gave us, not really knowing what His plan for us was going to be like.
So for a period of over 2 years we were involved in the ministry of the local church that brought us into the country. In November of 2005 the Lord spoke to us again. This time about planting a church in the city of Peterborough to which we asked, “God, aren’t there enough churches in the city…?” No answer. “OK Lord, but, why us?” No answer.
In May of 2006 we had our first house prayer meeting to seek God in regards to starting a new church. Right away we sensed His presence and confirmation, which caused us to start Sunday meetings also at our house, being the only venue we had at the time.
It wasn’t going to be long before the British Assemblies of God offered us the building of a church within its fellowship that was coming to a close to continue our church plant project at.
So on Sunday 7 January 2007 we officially took over that church (the same morning in which our youngest son, David, was born).
Three years went by already and as we enter into our 4th year of life we do it with great expectation for we sense in our spirits that a new day for the Church of Christ in England is soon to dawn.
On several occasions since 2007 God had spoken to us about growth; about making an impact in the community, and a few more words that are very encouraging as well as challenging. We believe they will come to pass! Not because we are special but because we serve an incredible God that is coming back to the land He visited so many times in the past.
So in our 3rd birthday as a church we would like to encourage you to embrace God with all your strength. God is sending His Spirit back to Europe! Stand your ground, proclaim His Kingdom, see His coming glory, get ready for a new day!
